Upgrading to WordPress 2.3.2? Why & How?

WordPress 2.3.2 was just released on December 29, 2007. By upgrading to this new version, a bug that can be used to expose your draft posts will no longer exist. It will also fix Some error messages that can leak information of your database table structure and limits, and also leaks in XML-RPC and APP implementations. As a bonus, WordPress 2.3.2 allows you to create a customer database error page. Therefore upgrading to this new version is recommended. Some people upgrade it automatically; but I prefer doing it manually.

Important! Backup all your WordPress files in your WordPress directory

Deactivate all your plug-ins if you have any

Download wordpress-2.3.2.zip here. After you’ve done that, unzip the file

Delete the old WordPress files from your WordPress directory except wp-config.php file, wp-content folder, wp-images folder, wp-include/language/ folder, .htaccess file, and robots.txt file

Upload all the unzipped files to your WordPress directory

Once you’ve done that, run /wp-admin/upgrade.php and follow the instructions on the screen

Find out database name, user name, password, and host name from your configuration.php which resides in your websites’s root directory

Once you get through, it will ask you to enter your WordPress blog title and your login information. Just type your blog title and login

There are no database upgrades this time
