Posting Your Videos With WordPress

November 24th, 2007 · 5 Comments · How to, WordPress, WordPress Tips

In order to post embedded videos using WordPress 2.3.1, I have to download a plugin; but it is not hard. See my YouTube video in this blog. For instructions of how to do that, just follow the steps below:

  • Go to WordPress.org website and download a plugin – Viper’s Video Quicktags version 5.2.3. This plugin requires WordPress version 2.0 or higher.
  • After you’ve downloaded the plugin, you have to unzip that file because it is compressed.
  • Then use FTP to upload all the unzipped files to this folder /wp-content/plugins/.
  • To configure this plug-in, first you have to go to your WordPress Dashboard; click on Plugins, and activate it first.
  • Then click on Options/Video Quicktages and configure the options to meet your needs.
  • Make sure you click on Save Changes to save it.

An useful tip for you. If for some reason you don’t see the plugin showing up on the editor, just hold down Shift key and hit Refresh key at the same time. You should see it on the editor title bar now. That is how I did it. Now you can have your videos in you WordPress blog too. Enjoy!
